Wine Tasting At Home
You can have wine tasting at home with all your friends in one place. This would be a real fun for wine lover with full of activity. The wine tasting events are conducted both for enjoyment and as a profession. A professional wine taster knows the tastes of different varieties of wines and could find out the best among them. Some people who do not know more about wine tasting even attend wine tasting course or class before they hold their own wine tasting at home. Prior knowledge is very essential for this.
When you have decided to hold a wine tasting at home you have to order for the wines that have to be tasted. Some will arrange for different types of wines at their home while others would ask their guests to bring each one a bottle of their favorite drink. You have to separate the wines into white wines and red wines. In white wine variety you must have the dry whites to be tasted first because they are less sweet than the other one. In white wines too you must make sure that the lighter wines are tasted before the heavier ones. Any one conducting wine tasting at home should know all these things.
During the course of wine tasting at home it is better to start with newer wines and move on to the more mature wines at the end. You have to serve two ounces in each glass to your guests so that they will enjoy the whole wine tasting at home. You have to plan your party well in advance. You must arrange for the appetizers that would go well with wines like crackers and sausages. Some even conduct chocolate and wine tasting party or cheese and wine tasting party. There are both vertical wine tasting and horizontal wine tasting.
You have to send invitation to your guests at least before two weeks so that they can make arrangements to visit your wine tasting at home. You can arrange for wine tasting cards. These are simple note cards given to every guest so that they can record their thoughts for each wine they taste. You can prepare the cards by yourself or buy them from shops. They have details about the wine like year of manufacture, brand name, etc. You can leave the blank columns for the guests to fill in themselves. Have fun!
